If you host your website on a Linux server, and you are looking for a script to e-mail form information, E Street recommends the ‘FormMail’ perl script from NMS. The script takes information entered on a web form and mails it to any e-mail account you specify. The script can be used as a drop in replacement for the formail script found a Matt’s Script Archive (MSA.)
We do NOT RECOMMEND using Matt’s formmail.pl script (and in fact, Matt himself does not recommend using his own script!) The script is old and has not been maintained very well, leading to a lot of security holes that can be exploited to send spam without permission.
If you are using Matt’s script, we recommend replacing it with the NMS script and taking the time to re-code your forms to take advantage of the secuity features of the NMS script.
