With the CHMOD command, you can use WS_FTP (Pro and LE versions are similar) to change remote file permissions (if uploading to a UNIX host, and provided you have file-access permission).
To CHMOD a file:
1. Highlight the file.
2. Right-click the file and select CHMOD from the pop-up menu.
3. Select any of the options and click the OK button.
This change to the file’s permissions will occur on the remote machine, not on your PC.
The proper permission settings for your purpose depend on exactly what you want to do and who normally can read files.
As an example, setting CHMOD 755 would require you to check the following boxes:
Owner: Read, Write, Execute
Group: Read, Execute
Other: Read, Execute
