As of Jan 1, 2014, ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) requires all WHOIS contact information to be verified. This is done by sending an email to the domain registrant contact.
Any time a domain is registered or the contact first name, last name or email is changed, an email is sent to the contact email to verify the changes to the domain.
What happens if I don’t answer the verification email?
For new domains, failure to reply to the email after 15 days results in the domain being suspended and name servers changed so your domain will not be available.
For contact information changes, failure to respond to the email after 7 days will result in the domain being suspended and name servers changed.
What if I don’t receive the email?
The verification email generally arrives in under an hour after a domain has been registered.
Make sure you have entered the correct email address for the Registrant or contact of the domain.
If the address is correct and you haven’t seen the email within an hour, most likely the message is stuck in a spam filter, check this second.
If you have more than one domain registered through us, and you use contact information that has already been verified, you will not get an email.
If all of these causes have been ruled out, send and email to support@estreet.com and we’ll resend the notification.
How do I activate a suspended domain?
Once you have responded to the verification email ,your domain, if suspended, will be active and the original name servers restored.
